The rich are getting richer — and investing like the world is on fire

By all appearances, the global wealthy are thriving. A record number of people are joining the ranks of the ultra-rich. Luxury home prices are still climbing. Private capital is moving aggressively into real estate, infrastructure and alternative assets. Demand for yachts, private aviation and “transformational” luxury experiences remains strong.

And yet, beneath the surface of global wealth creation, a new anxiety is shaping how the rich live, spend and invest.

That’s the central takeaway from Knight Frank’s Wealth Report 2026, which paints a picture of affluent investors navigating a world defined by geopolitical conflict, persistent inflation, shifting tax regimes, technological disruption and growing concerns about where — and how — to preserve wealth.
