Benson Elliot and Walton Street Capital sell last hotel from Host portfolio

Law firm Paul Hastings has advised a joint venture between U.K.-based Benson Elliot and Walton Street Capital, in partnership with Schroders, on the corporate sale of the Sheraton Warsaw to Patron Capital.

The sale of the Sheraton Warsaw was the last property from a portfolio the joint venture acquired in 2015 from Host Hotels, which consisted of eight prime hotels in seven major cities across five countries. Paul Hastings also advised on the acquisition of the portfolio in 2015 and on each of the subsequent disposals. The team was led by real estate partner Michael James and associate Edward Meadowcroft, with tax partner Arun Birla, employment partner Suzanne Horne, and finance associate Sierra Taylor.  The sale further showcases the law firm’s strength in the European real estate sector, having recently won both the PERE Law Firm of the Year for Euro
