Velocis Fund III holds close

Velocis, a private equity real estate fund manager investing in Sun Belt industrial, multifamily, amenitized office, medical office and life sciences properties, as well as global real estate secondaries, has closed its third and largest property fund.

Velocis Fund III secured $298 million against a target of $300 million, and will add co-investment capital to that fundraise, giving Velocis some $850 million to $900 million of purchasing power, a spokesperson for the firm said in an email.

Velocis Fund III will employ a value-added strategy, focused on 12 Sun Belt markets. It will invest in multifamily, select amenitized office and healthcare (medical office and life sciences) assets.

The investor base consisted of high-net-worth investors, family offices and institutional investors.

Velocis has raised more than $1 billion of equity and acquired more than $2 billion of commercial real estate.
