Life insurer and asset manager Aegon has announced the appointment of Shawn Johnson as the new CEO of Aegon Asset Management and a member of Aegon’s executive committee.
Johnson is succeeding Bas NieuweWeme, who has decided to pursue career opportunities outside of Aegon.
Johnson joins Aegon from AMP Capital, where he served as CEO for two years. In addition, he founded Guidon Global LLC, served as interim CEO at a stealth fintech startup, and spent 15 years at State Street Global Advisors.
