Nontraded business development companies saw a 55.6 percent year-over-year rise in aggregate net asset value and a 10 percent increase quarter-over-quarter, closing the year at $95.9 billion, according to DI WIRE, citing data from Robert A. Stanger & Co.
Following a 2.4 percent increase in third quarter 2024, the Stanger Non-Listed BDC Total Return Index posted a 2.3 percent gain in fourth quarter 2024, its 10th consecutive quarter of steady growth — bringing its full-year return to 10.7 percent. These returns continue to trail their publicly traded BDC counterparts, which delivered a 16.6 percent total return for the year.
