Matt Brancato has been appointed to a newly created role of head of broker-dealer alts sales on Franklin Templeton’s U.S. wealth management alternatives team.
Based in Raleigh, N.C., he will oversee the firm’s alts broker-dealer external and internal sales team.
Previously, he held the position of director of alternatives investments since 2021. In addition, he held various positions at Benefit Street Partners, Broadstone Real Estate, Hatteras Fund and Mirae Asset Global Investments.
In separate news, Steve Uhen has been promoted to head of RIA alts sales. Based in Chicago, Uhen has responsibility for the firm’s alts RIA external and internal sales team.
Previously, he was the head of alternative sales — RIA for two months, and prior to that, he was a director of Franklin Templeton Alternatives for four years. In addition, he held positions at Benefit Street Partners, Broadstone Net Lease, FS Investment and Zacks Investment Management.
