Griffin Capital Co. has named Mark Goldberg as CEO of Griffin Capital Securities.
Goldberg will assume a variety of responsibilities, including executing the strategic direction and agenda of GCS’s equity sales programs, driving penetration through its distribution channels, enhancing national accounts presence, marketing integration, events coordination, and operational processes. Goldberg will also join the senior executive team to further develop the shape of Griffin Capital’s strategic vision and policies.
Goldberg joins Griffin Capital from W. P. Carey Inc., where, for the last nine years, he served as managing director of W. P. Carey, chairman of Carey Financial, president of W. P. Carey Investment Management, and held senior executive positions in Carey’s real estate investment trust and business development company product offerings and their respective advisers.
In addition, Goldberg previously served as CEO and president of AIG-Royal Alliance, executive vice president of SunAmerica Financial Network and president of AIG Securities, Tokyo. Goldberg was also a founding member of the Financial Services Institute, a board member and past chair of the Investment Program Association, and in 2016 he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Investment Program Association.
