Griffin Capital, an alternative investment asset manager headquartered in El Segundo, Calif., is currently marketing its Griffin Capital Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund III. To date, the fund sponsor has raised approximately $124 million, according to a recent Form D filing. Griffin Capital is seeking to raise $500 million for the fund. To date, more than 200 investors have invested in the Regulation D private placement offering.
The firm’s predecessor fund, Griffin Capital Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund II, closed in the fourth quarter of 2021 after having raised more than $585 million of investor equity. On behalf of the fund, Griffin Capital executed joint venture agreements with seven multifamily developers to construct 12 multifamily communities, consisting of more than 4,000 residential units, in 11 distinct Qualified Opportunity Zones.
