The founder and former chief executive of Carson Group, Ron Carson, announced on LinkedIn that he has legally changed his first name to Omani.
He stepped down as the CEO in April 2024. Carson founded the company in 1983, initially selling insurance from his college dorm room. After dropping out of the University of Nebraska, he dedicated himself full-time to growing his advisory business. Burt White, who joined the Carson Group in 2022 as chief strategy officer, took over as CEO.
DI Wire reported that Carson had gone by Omani outside of the financial services industry for years.
