BlackRock to commit €578m to next-gen data center investment program in the U.K.

BlackRock, through its European value-added real estate series, has announced plans to commit up to £500 million (€578 million/$681 million) to an investment program delivering next-generation enterprise data centers across the United Kingdom, supporting evolving demands from businesses for high-density compute capabilities.

Boosting the United Kingdom’s overall data center capacity, the program will finance the modernization of operational enterprise data centers to better serve blue-chip companies with enhanced hybrid cloud solutions.

The investment program will be delivered by a newly launched data center operating platform called Gravity Edge, which is a joint venture between BlackRock and DGP, a specialist digital infrastructure investor and adviser.
