2020 to be big year for private equity firms

by Andrea Zander

Private equity firms have a record amount of cash to deploy in 2020, reported Fox Business.

One area that private equity investors are looking at in 2020 is healthcare real estate, including medical offices and senior living spaces. Deals in the space have more than doubled over the past decade, representing more than $100 billion in 2018.

Low interest rates, the rise of index-tracking funds and years of lackluster hedge fund performance have pushed investors to private equity in search of higher returns, reported Investment News.  The amount of capital raised by 2019 vintage funds, or those that began investing last year, was about $465 billion, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
