Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust (BREIT) has named Robert Harper as interim CEO. This appointment follows the passing of former BREIT CEO Wesley LePatner in the tragic shooting at Blackstone’s headquarters in June. Prior to LePatner’s role as CEO of BREIT, she served as COO and director.
Harper has been with Blackstone since 2002, where he has served as a senior managing director and was appointed as co-president of BREIT in March. He also previously served as president of the company and head of asset management. Prior to joining Blackstone, Harper worked with Morgan Stanley as part of their real estate private equity group. He will continue his role as co-president and director while serving as interim CEO.
Harper graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
