Longroad Energy breaks ground on four California solar projects

by Kali Persall

Longroad Energy, a United States–based renewable energy developer, owner and operator, has commenced construction on a 215-megawatt portfolio of four solar projects in Fresno County, Calif. The project portfolio is known as Little Bear Solar.

According to Longroad, PKA and PenSam, two Danish pension funds managed by AIP Management, will invest in 50 percent of the equity interests of both Little Bear Solar and Prospero I Solar, a 379-megawatt project in Andrews County, Texas.

Gaynor noted that, last July, AIP joined Longroad as investors in the El Campo wind project in Knox County, Texas, marking its first investment in the U.S. onshore wind market. That project is currently under construction and expected to come online in the second quarter of 2020.
