London companies search for larger offices with better bicycle storage

Many companies based in London are looking for larger office spaces with facilities for extra parking and bicycle storage.

A survey carried out by workspace provider The Argyll Club, has found 50 percent of its clients are looking for larger premises, with 35 percent seeking offices with an outdoor area. In addition, 80 percent are seeking properties with showers and bike racks, and 60 percent want to find offices with convenient car parking.

The company has said its clients’ priorities are “pivoting.” Before the COVID-19 crisis, businesses tended to focus on maximum desk density and communal breakout spaces when selecting a workspace. Now, larger offices that support social distancing must be combined with an easy access route that does not rely on public transport and its associated risks. “As lockdown eases, many businesses are first focusing on providing safe travel to the office, rather than encouraging employees to return regardless of their commute,”
