Market Focus: Utrecht, the Netherlands

Utrecht is the capital and most populous city of the Dutch province of the same name, with more than 329,000 inhabitants, making it the fourth largest city in the Netherlands. Located in the eastern corner of the Randstad conurbation, it lies at the heart of the Netherlands, surrounded by the remaining G4 cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. Its central location provides excellent links to road, rail and inland waterways, serving as an important domestic distribution hub. Due to its easy accessibility and boasting the most highly educated workforce in the Netherlands, Utrecht is one of the most important economic centres in the country. Its key sectors include life sciences, finance, IT, creative industries (eg. gaming and design) and sustainability solutions.
