The New Year has already seen a lot of European fund activity, with two large funds having their final close and a handful of funds beginning marketing.

Curlew Capital has launched Curlew Student Trust, a new vehicle for investment in prime purpose-built student accommodation throughout the United Kingdom. The fund will focus on top 50/Russell Group universities but will pursue other opportunities when they appear favourable, and intends to forward-fund new developments in high-demand locations. CBRE Global Multi Manager is a key initial investor, having already committed £40 million (€48.2 million) to the fund.

Leading Italian real estate asset management company Fabrica SGR has partnered with
