Fast and smart: How 5G will transform urban property for the better

The arrival of 5G coverage in Europe is imminent. The UK is currently on track to get the majority of the country under 5G networks by 2027, while Germany could unroll 5G by 2025 to most of its citizens.

The potential for this new technology to fundamentally change our lives is immense. Unlike previous telecommunications breakthroughs, 5G’s ability to facilitate the internet-of-things (IoT) carries with it the potential for significant disruption across almost every industry — not least the real estate sector.

Devices that are already 5G-enabled are, in reality, only accessing what the high-end of 4G can offer. When true 5G connectivity arrives, the amount of data objects of all kinds can transmit and receive will massively increase — by a factor of 10 or more, reaching internet speeds of 10 gigabits per second.
