U.K. investors bring Gresham House Residential Secure Income fund to $228m

by Kali Persall

Gresham House Residential Secure Income (ReSI), a limited partnership investing in U.K. shared ownership, has secured £186 million ($228 million) in capital commitments from U.K. institutional investors, including corporate pension funds and local government pension schemes.

Since it launched in May 2021, the fund has been actively deploying its capital to deliver more than 1,000 affordable homes in 19 locations across the United Kingdom. The fund has a wider pipeline of more than 9,000 homes, providing an investment opportunity of more than £1 billion ($1.2 billion).

ReSI was designed to lower the lifetime cost of housing for lower and middle-income people; deliver new affordable high-quality energy efficient homes; and provide investors with stable and secure, long-term income returns that contractually rise with inflation. The fund also has a strong environmental focus and is committed to the delivery of sustainability and carbon-reduction targets.
