The $66.1 billion Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) of the State of Illinois has unveiled $350 million of new real estate commitments with two existing fund managers.
The pension fund committed $200 million to EQT X, managed by EQT Fund Management, and $150 million to Cerberus Real Estate Debt Fund II, managed by Cerberus Capital Management.
Currently, EQT manages $200 million and €410 million ($411 million) in TRS assets, and Cerberus now manages $419.6 million in TRS assets.
TRS Illinois also recently invested $100 million in Gateway Real Estate Fund VII, a Hong Kong–based fund managed by Gaw Capital Partners.
