The Teacher Retirement System (TRS) of Texas has disclosed three real estate investments that were made during the month of April — two to opportunistic strategies and one to core.
The opportunistic investments include $150 million to Harrison Street Real Estate Partners VIII, managed by Harrison Street; and $49.5 million to Banner Oak BOV U.K., managed by Banner Oak Capital Partners.
Harrison Street Real Estate Partners Fund VIII is a closed-end opportunistic fund focused on alternative property types such as life sciences, medical office, senior housing and student housing in the United States and Canada. The fund launched in November 2020 with a $2 billion fundraising target.
Banner Oak BOV U.K opened in April, and with the commitment from TRS hit its fundraising target of $50 million, according to an SEC filing.
