by Kali Persall

Temasek Trust, the philanthropic arm of Singapore state sovereign wealth fund Temasek Holdings, has raised S$385 million ($283 million) for its inaugural private equity fund for impact investing, ABC World Asia.

Investors included Temasek Trust, Temasek, Pavilion Capital, Mapletree Investments, Seatown Holdings and Sembcorp Industries, according to media sources.

David Heng, chief executive of the fund, noted that the investors “bring deep and complementary experience spanning various markets and sectors.”

The Asia-focused fund will look to invest in “good companies that seek to deliver positive impact alongside financial return,” added Heng.

ABC World Asia is eyeing investments in China, Southeast Asia and South Asia under the themes of financial and digital inclusion, health and education, climate and water solutions, sustainable food and agriculture, and smart and liveable cities, reported The Straits Times.
