The Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois has issued an RFP in the search for investment consultant to assist in the administration of the system’s $7.3 billion real estate portfolio.
The RFP seeks a consultant to “assist the system in making prudent investment decisions related to the TRS investment program.” Illinois TRS expects to finalize the selection process for the search in the fall or winter of 2019.
State law requires Illinois TRS to rebid all investment consulting contracts at a minimum of every five years. The contract with the system’s current real estate consultant, Cleveland-based StepStone Real Estate, was finalized in 2014.
StepStone is allowed to bid for a new contract.
