by Released

U.K.-based Target Fund Managers, the external manager to Target Healthcare REIT (THRL), has made three appointments to support its growth strategy.

Maria Gaurino joins as healthcare director, and brings more than 18 years of care home management and senior consultancy experience from across the United Kingdom. She has an in-depth knowledge of the U.K. care home sector and recognizes the importance of quality real estate. Most recently, Gaurino has been instrumental in assisting small to medium-size care home operators in delivering safe care and optimal management performance. At Target Fund Managers, Gaurino will primarily be responsible for undertaking thorough healthcare property analysis and reporting. This covers both future, and existing, group care homes and the wider market, fully supporting Target’s ethos of being an engaged landlord.

Mark Langford joins as finance manager from Clydesdale Bank, where he spent six years as finance manager, planning and forecasting, responsible for reviewing and improving operational performance and longer-term commercial strategy, as well as managing complex regulatory and statutory requirements across the bank. He brings more than 15 years of financial planning, reporting, forecasting and accounting experience, having previously held senior roles at Shell U.K. and Vertex Data Science.

Langford will work with finance director Gordon Bland and his team on the financial planning and analysis, management accounting, stakeholder reporting and statutory financial reporting functions, while supporting senior management with a number of ongoing commercial and strategic projects across both the business and client funds.

Emma Fernandes join as senior marketing manager and will work alongside the leadership team, overseeing all aspects of the marketing and communications program, including content generation, newsflow and research, across both traditional and digital platforms. Fernandes joins from Prudential, where as key account marketing manager she was heavily involved in the implementation of marketing and digital strategies, while also driving one-off external campaigns. Fernandes has more than 18 years of marketing and communications experience, having previously worked at Lloyds, Standard Life Investments and RBS.
