Swiss Life fund plans capital raise for December

by Kali Persall

A vehicle managed by Swiss Life is planning a capital raise in December, in an effort to secure a high-quality real estate portfolio worth around CHF 350 million ($382 million).

The vehicle, Swiss Life REF (CH) Swiss Properties, was launched in November 2015 and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange in June 2019. The fund’s investment focus is on residential real estate in Swiss cities and their surrounding areas. The fund also invests in commercial properties at central locations.

Swiss Life REF (CH) Swiss Properties will use the funds to acquire a portfolio of 18 properties that are currently owned by Swiss Life. The portfolio consists of residential properties in economically strong regions, according to Swiss Life. Nearly half the properties are located in the cities of Zurich, Geneva and Lausanne or their immediately adjacent municipalities. The remaining properties are located in small and medium-sized centers and in suburbs of the major cities.
