Data has long been used to evaluate real estate investment decisions from a performance point of view, but investors are increasingly looking to data to formulate investment strategies and decisions on the front end, according to Simon Fonteyn, executive director of FLNT, and Kooshan Mirzay Fashami, analytics lead for FLNT, a marketplace for actionable commercial real estate intelligence supported by EG’s technology incubator, EGX. “I believe AI will have a seat at the table with the chief investment officer within the next decade,” argues Fonteyn, in a sponsored interview published in the September issue of Institutional Real Estate Asia Pacific. “It may not have the final say, but the CIO certainly will have an AI algorithm recommending investment decisions.
