South Carolina Retirement System puts $200m in Blackstone, EQT Exeter funds

The South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission has awarded $100 million each to Blackstone Real Estate Partners X (BREP X), managed by Blackstone, and EQT Exeter US Industrial Value-Add Fund VI, managed by EQT Exeter.

BREP X is the latest in Blackstone’s series of global flagship real estate funds. The vehicle seeks to construct a diversified portfolio of real estate and real estate-related assets globally. In July, the fund surpassed $24.1 billion on its way to reaching an estimated target of $30.3 billion when it is finalized, according to The Wall Street Journal.

EQT Exeter US Industrial Value-Add Fund VI is a closed-end, value-added fund targeting industrial opportunities in large U.S. markets.  The vehicle launched in March with a $4.5 billion fundraising target. As with previous funds, Fund VI will focus on acquiring, renovating, developing and leasing logistic properties in the United States.
