Precious metals jump after CPI report

Prices of gold and other precious metals jumped on Tuesday after an optimistic inflation report from the United States, reported an article by Breaking the News.

Spot gold climbed 1.62 percent to sell for $1,808.15 per ounce at 8:42 a.m. ET, and silver rallied 2.05 percent to $23.81 per ounce at the same time. Platinum surged 2.84 percent to $1.033.68 per ounce at 8:43 a.m. ET, and palladium rose 1.38 percent to go for $1,903.74 at the same time.
