PNB names new CIO

Datuk Idris Kechot, asset management deputy president and group COO of Permodalan Nasional Bhd, has retired, according to an announcement from PNB. In addition, Hanizan Hood has been appointed CIO with PNB.

Kechot has been with PNB, including Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd, PNB’s wholly owned unit trust management company, for more than 34 years.

Hood will assume leadership of the day-to-day oversight of all the operating units within its asset management division, namely fund management, strategic asset allocation, equity market operations, fixed income, investment analysis and economics departments.

Hood, who joined PNB in 1996, has served in various capacities in the areas of equity research, money market, fixed income and portfolio management.
