Penn SERS allocates $400m to European and senior housing funds

The $ $55.2 billion Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System has committed a total of $400 million to a European-focused fund and a senior housing fund, according to Pamela Hile, spokeswoman for the pension fund.

The first commitment was $300 million to Henderson Park Enhanced Income Fund, managed by Henderson Park Capital Partners, to target investments in properties in key gateway cities across Europe. The second commitment was up to $100 million to Senior Housing Partnership Fund VI, managed by PGIM Real Estate, to focus on private-pay independent-living and assisted-living facilities within the senior housing industry.

In other news, Penn SERS reported fourth quarter 2018 and year-end investment performance. Returns generated by Penn SERS, by asset class, for the fourth quarter and calendar year 2018 were:
