Orchard Street Investment Management, a U.K.-focused commercial property investment manager, has completed the first close of its newly launched inaugural impact fund, Orchard Street Social and Environmental Impact Partnership (SEIP).
The fund collected just less than £90 million ($103 million), including co-investments from Orchard Street’s partners and members of its senior team. In addition, Brunel Pension Partnership, one of the United Kingdom’s Local Government Pension Scheme pools, acted as the fund’s cornerstone investor on behalf of eight of its 10 underlying local authority partner funds.
SEIP will target value-add real estate investment opportunities that have the potential to generate a measurable social and environmental impact. Specifically, it will focus on the three impact areas:
