OP&F reports –6.12% portfolio net return for FY

The $15.5 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund has reported a negative 6.12 percent net return for its portfolio for the period ended Dec. 31, 2018, according to notes from David Graham, communications director for the pension fund.

OP&F’s investment consultant Wilshire Associates presented the Investment Performance Report for periods ended Dec. 31, 2018. For the final quarter of 2018, the OP&F portfolio had a negative 6.12 percent net return. For the year, the portfolio’s net return was a negative 2.40 percent, beating its policy benchmark return of negative 2.67 percent.

Focusing on real estate, OP&F’s real estate portfolio previously saw a net return of 1.9 percent for third quarter 2018 and 11.2 percent for the 12 months ended Sept. 30, 2018. The real estate portfolio is valued at $1.75 billion, or 11.9
