Octopus Investments seeks up to $370m for affordable housing strategy

Octopus Investments, part of investment manager Octopus Group, has launched an affordable housing strategy for institutional investors, targeting an initial £200 million to £300 million ($247 million to $370 million) of commitments across multiple closes in 2023.

The evergreen strategy will help accelerate the United Kingdom’s delivery of affordable homes. The strategy is targeting resilient, index-linked income from the forward funding, acquisition and long-term ownership of a portfolio of affordable homes across the United Kingdom. Co-investment opportunities will be available for local investors, such as Local Government Pension Schemes (LGPS).

The strategy will be led by Jack Burnham, head of affordable housing at Octopus Real Estate.
