The $88.1 billion New York State Teachers Retirement System (NYSTRS) has invested $164.6 million in real estate funds since the year began, according to minutes from an April 24 board meeting.
NYSTRS invested $75 million in Gaw Capital Partners’ opportunistic venture Gateway Real Estate Fund IV, which held a $200 million final close in March 2013. Gateway Real Estate Fund IV invests in all properties types across the greater China region.
