NYSCRF invests in open-end Black Creek Industrial Fund

IREI has learned the New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF) has backed the open-end Black Creek Industrial Fund (BCIF) with a $200 million commitment.

The core-plus fund managed by Black Creek Group targets industrial, logistics and warehouse assets in the United States. Launched in 2017, the limited partnership vehicle has a minimum investment of $5 million.

Black Creek Group declined to comment on its recent investment activity.

NYSCRF joins a slew of other pension funds from the United States in backing BCIF. In March, the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System disclosed a $275 million commitment to the fund. In 2019, the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund committed $50 million to the fund, and the San Antonio Fire & Police Pension System
