MedProperties launches $250m healthcare fund

MedProperties Holdings, a Dallas-based private equity firm solely dedicated to investments in healthcare real estate, is seeking $250 million for its newest real estate fund, MedProperties Fund III, according to a filing with the SEC. The firm did not comment on its fundraising efforts.

MedProperties Fund III is a value-added, opportunistic fund that will invest in healthcare and medical office properties throughout the United States.

During fundraising for the series’ second fund, MedProperties managing principal Darryl Freling said, “Our investment strategy will, however, be expanded to include investments in senior housing, particularly higher acuity senior housing projects such as assisted living and memory care facilities that we believe carry higher barriers to entry.”
