Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) has allotted $90 million of capital to two open-ended real estate funds.

IREI understands the pension fund put $45 million each in Stockbridge Smart Markets Fund, managed by Stockbridge Capital Group, and Invesco U.S. Income Fund, managed by Invesco Real Estate.

Stockbridge Smart Markets Fund is an open-ended, commingled investment fund investing in real estate assets in the United State. Invesco U.S. Income Fund is an open-ended fund investing in U.S. office, industrial, multifamily and retail properties.

As of Dec. 31, 2021, MainePERS had an 8.7-percent allocation to real estate, against a target of 10 percent. The pension fund could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
