Las Vegas Sands selling Bethlehem casino for $1.3b

Las Vegas Sands Corp. plans to sell its Bethlehem, Pa., casino to Wind Creek Hospitality, an affiliate of the privately held entertainment and gaming company Poarch Band of Creek Indians of Alabama, for $1.3 billion.
The Poarch Band of Creek Indians is the only federally recognized Indian tribe in Alabama. Wind Creek operates nine gaming properties in Alabama, Nevada, Florida and the Caribbean.
Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem opened on the 126-acre former Bethlehem Steel plant in May 2009, costing $800 million to build. The resort totals 3,000 slot machines, 230 table games, 300-room hotel, outlet mall and concert venue. Nine million people visit the Sands Bethlehem Resort.

It leads the state’s 12 casinos in revenue, totaling $539 million during the last fiscal year.
