by Jody Barhanovich

The Los Angeles Fire & Police Pensions has committed $35 million to Kayne Anderson Core Real Estate Fund, according to board meeting documents.

The core fund is managed by Kane Anderson Capital Advisors, an alternative investment management firm. The firm intends to invest approximately 70 percent of the fund’s capital in medical office and senior housing and will invest the remainder in self-storage and student housing. The fund’s initial portfolio after it opened in 2017 came from Kayne Anderson Real Estate Partners III, which held a $750 million close in 2013.

Kayne manages approximately $29 billion in assets for institutional investors, family offices, high-net-worth investors and retail clients.
