L.A. Fire & Police chooses U.S. REIT and real estate separate account managers

by Jody Barhanovich

The Los Angeles Fire & Police Pensions has completed its search for U.S. REIT and real estate separate account managers, according to board meeting documents.

The board selected Cohen & Steers in the U.S. REIT search and AEW Capital Management in the real estate separate account search.

In September, the pension fund had narrowed its real estate separate account search to six candidates: CBRE, Heitman, L&B Realty Advisors, Sentinel and Stockbridge and AEW Capital Management.

The pension fund has a target allocation to real estate, which includes REITs, of 10 percent and an actual allocation of 8.91 percent.
