Kayne Anderson seeks $2b for sixth Partners real estate fund

Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors is targeting $2 billion for its newly launched Real Estate Partners VI fund.

The opportunistic fund will capitalize on opportunities across several real estate sectors, including senior housing, medical office and student housing. It opened to investors earlier this month and has already attracted a commitment of $50 million from the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana.

Kayne Anderson Real Estate invests in alternative commercial real estate sectors that are characterized by lack of capital, operational intensity, fragmented ownership and recession-resistance, according to the firm’s website.
