Kairos Investment Management Co. names senior investment director of real estate credit

Kairos Investment Management Company (KIMC), a $2.4 billion real estate private equity and debt platform headquartered in Irvine, Calif., has made two new hires.

Jesse McDonald has been named senior investment director of real estate credit and Hyosung “HK” Kang as investment director.

McDonald leads Kairos’ East Coast origination efforts, focusing on sourcing distressed debt opportunities and expanding banking relationships. McDonald was previously CIBC’s managing director of commercial real estate originations, where he sourced, structured, and underwrote loans more than $6 billion. His other notable positions included Vice President at Anglo Irish Bank and management roles at Westdeutsche ImmobilienBank, JPMorgan Chase Mortgage Capital, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. McDonald obtained his Bachelor of Science and MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
