The Iowa Public Employees' Retirement System (IPERS) saw a net investment return of -3.9 percent for the fiscal year ending June 30, against a policy benchmark of -4.05 percent. The pension fund’s investment return for the quarter of -7.53 percent, net of fees.
IPERS earned an 8.19 percent time-weighted return (net of fees) for its private real assets class, which consists of investment in commercial real estate located in the United States and partnerships that invest in timberland and farmland in North America.
IPERS’ website reveals an 8 percent target allocation to private real assets.
As of June 30, the IPERS investment portfolio had a market value of $40.13 billion.
