Investa secures first Australian green loan for property fund

by Released

The Investa Commercial Property Fund (ICPF) becomes the country’s first major landlord to arrange a universally acknowledged green loan, securing a A$170 million ($121 million) facility.

It achieved Australia’s first verification of a Green Loan from the globally recognized Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI), once again demonstrating its sustainability leadership and commitment to third-party verification of its environmental standards.

“To attract global capital, we increasingly need to be able to demonstrate our progress in the transition to a low carbon economy. This new Green Loan links our debt funding with an emissions intensity standard for our portfolio, thereby creating financial opportunity via strong environmental performance,” said Jason Leong, fund manager ICPF.

ICPF is a core prime office fund for institutional investors that concentrates on premium-grade office assets in the major Australian central business district markets.
