Inflation-sensitive private assets drive outperformance in AIMCo portfolios

Alberta Investment Management Corp. (AIMCo), a Canadian institutional investor, has outperformed its investment benchmarks for both the second quarter and the first six months of 2022, despite a slew of inflation, slowing global economic growth, lingering supply chain and energy issues.

In a recent investment performance report, AIMco noted that demand for inflation-sensitive private assets remained high and mid-year valuations in private equity, real estate and infrastructure were favorable for AIMCo client portfolios.

AIMCo’s annualized total fund returns for four and 10 years are 4.8 percent and 7.4 percent, respectively, with both measures outperforming their benchmarks.
