The $50.78 billion Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) has approved a commitment of up to $150 million to Blackstone Real Estate Partners X, an opportunistic fund managed by Blackstone.
Blackstone Real Estate Partners X launched in May to invest in diversified property types globally.
A fundraising target could not be determined at the time of publication; however, the fund’s predecessor, Blackstone Real Estate Partners IX (BREP IX), reached a final close in 2019 with $20.5 billion of capital commitments.
IMRF is an existing investor in Blackstone funds, with $1.12 billion in aggregate commitments.
