A new initiative, called the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), was launched on Nov. 2 at COP26 — the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference — to accelerate investment in green-energy transitions and renewable-power solutions in developing and emerging economies worldwide.
Alliance partners include the African Development Bank Group, Asian Development Bank, European Investment Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, International Finance Corp., U.K.’s CDC Group, U.S. International Development Finance Corp., and World Bank as investment partners; and The Rockefeller Foundation, IKEA Foundation and Bezos Earth Fund as anchor philanthropic organizations.
