GPIF keeps strengthening its commitments on ESG

Japan’s GPIF has announced that the organization joined the 30 Percent Club Japan Investor Group, which was established in May 2019. The move is to expand its environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts and to promote gender diversity and gender equality at all levels of the organization.

Over the past few years, GPIF had joined the United Kingdom 30 Percent Club Investor Group and the U.S. Thirty Percent. GPIF aims to further expand its efforts and knowledge in ESG through joining coalition. In order to expand its ESG knowledge, GPIF has gathered information on the countries that are more advanced in ESG, particularly their efforts to promote diversity in the institutional investors.
