Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) has reported a loss of 0.88 percent for the third quarter of the year, marking its third consecutive quarter of negative returns.
GPIF ended the quarter with about $1.33 trillion of assets, a loss of around $11.6 billion from the previous quarter.
Reports say the pension fund attributed the decline to rate hikes in the United States and Europe, which stoked concerns of recession, causing strain on stock markets.
