Google has announced its 2020 expansion plans, investing $10 billion in offices and data centers in California, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.
The investments will create thousands of jobs, including roles within Google, construction jobs in data center and renewable energy facilities, and opportunities in local businesses in surrounding towns and communities.
The commitment follows its 2019 announcement of investing $13 billion in data centers.
Recently, the tech giant has had increased scrutiny from U.S. regulators. Leaders of the House Judiciary Committee in September requested documents from the company, raising antitrust concerns.
