Florida pension fund to seek new investment consultant

The $2.1 billion Jacksonville Police & Fire Pension Fund in Florida will begin seeking an investment consultant at the end of the month to replace interim consultant Wilshire Associates, whose contract will expire on Oct. 31.

Wilshire was brought in as an interim consultant in September 2018 after the consultant at the time, Summit Strategies Group, was sold to AndCo Consulting.

The Jacksonville pension fund sent Wilshire, along with two other firms, invitation-only requests for information. Those firms were Fund Evaluation Group and AndCo Consulting.

An RFP will be published on July 31 and will close on Aug. 28, according to a timeline document. The pension fund will evaluate results on Sept. 13, with contract negotiations and execution expected to commence on Oct. 1.
